THE FAMILIAR TERRITORY

Do you remember your first boyfriend ? first crush? first love?
i bet you remember all their features and characteristics . Now look at you current partners , see any resemblance?

We might have told ourselves "never again will i date someone like that " but the reality is that although some characteristics may differ but in the basic backbone all the men in our lives resemble each other . Strange yet true no matter how it all ended with the first partner , their characteristics forever remain in our subconscious and we subconsciously get attracted to men with similar qualities , not similar looking always but have same mannerisms or habits .

The phrase "first impression is last " may not be wrong , because in the case of love or attraction it is true . All our life we fall for the same type of guy . a jock , a nerd , a stereotype etc . We love the comfort of the 'familiar territory' , its like we fell for a guy and never recovered . it's nothing to be sad about , our mind registers our feelings towards specific characteristics and makes sure we feel similarly in the future in case of repeated circumstances .

What is complete happiness ? a brief moment which passes by in the blink of an eye. How many times can you handle the balance of life ?how many times can you pay the tax , till you decide not to smile at all?

RUN

I was running I looked around , it was a dimly lit street with sparse traffic I had my earphones on , so i was in my own universe I kept on running , for miles it seemed I am not an athletic person , but something was different today It felt like i was running from something , but couldn't tell what exactly it was Was i running from decisions ? ambition ? love ? commitment ?  With each leap i took I felt the communication with my soul was closing But i didn't stop I wanted to leave my soul behind And run far away My life flashed before me the first day of college , his smile , our first date And then our ridiculous fights , the break up night Suddenly a white light shined over me .. and something hit me i was on the road and then there was complete darkness.... I could feel my body come to absolute rest with excruciating pain......

She walks by , and his heart skips a beat Her boyfriend comes along , and  the heartache returns  again Then in class, their eyes meet , She saw right through his eyes , his love , his pain At night , she was entangled in her thoughts He was only thinking of her dark purple eyes They didn't know they were bonded Days passed , Conversations started with a simple gesture The day came , When he standing in a black tuxedo And she was in Pearl white silhouette And again there eyes met It was meant to be ! They knew it And all it took was a glance .
